Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a Social Media Manager to drive and lead the social media team.
Key Responsibilities:
The Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing the WBD interactions with our viewers by implementing social media platforms' content strategies. The duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions and planning digital campaigns to build community online.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned social media manager with a track record of strategizing and executing buzz-worthy social campaigns that drive awareness and engagement, as well as measuring performance and reporting results.
The person in this role will foster and maintain relationships to produce content tailored to social media audiences and collaborate closely with the content marketing teams to support the launch and ongoing campaigns from start to finish. The ideal candidate is an internet native who has a pulse on digital trends and emerging platforms. Experience managing social strategy for a major media company/DTC entertainment company is a plus.
Strategy:
Oversee and drive the direct to consumer social strategy and platforms for WBD (includes networks and studios). Document social strategies and rollout to share with the marketing leadership team.
Build social show promotion and support franchise strategies for priority titles from greenlight to launch and beyond.
Pitch innovative ideas for expanding social promotions across new and emerging platforms (WeAre8, Threads, etc.)
Collaborate with WBD social teams to align on broader strategies that span across brands.
Manage, allocate and make recommendations on social budget to drive desired outcomes and audiences..
Implementation:
Develop and maintain a social content calendar and communicate plans with key stakeholders across production, content, marketing, PR, franchise and consumer products.
Originate and develop the creation of all social creative assets to drive engagement and reach. Proficiency with photo and video software editing tools is essential.
Repurpose/localize internationally supplied assets when relevant for the local markets.
Responsible for the review and approval of all social assets including video, photos, post copy, etc. for accuracy, grammar, tone, etc.
Reporting:
Timely delivery of post campaign analysis to key stakeholders, including results, key learnings and recommendations.
Monitor industry trends and report on best practices.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with brand managers, executive producers, internal and external PR teams, franchise and consumer products to support key comms beats.
Identify creative opportunities to leverage / collaborate with talent and create social-forward content that will excite and engage our fans and potential subscribers.
Work with talent management to share social best practices and sharing strategies for each title.
Support and report on sales integration initiatives when required.
Qualities Required:
Approx. 2-3 years of firsthand experience in social media management for a major brand.
Team collaboration – a track record of working closely and smoothly with cross-functional, high-performing teams with different objectives.
Deep knowledge of social media platforms and the unique differences between each.
Experience using social media publishing and reporting tools such as Meta Business Suite, Khoros, Hootsuite, Sprinklr or Sprout.
Proficient with photo and video software editing tools including but not limited to Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, FinalCut Pro, Canva.
Experience using project management tools such as Asana or Trello.
Impeccable communication skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in an ever-changing digital environment and flexibility to adapt quickly.
Familiarity with internet trends, lingo and nuances of communicating online.
A love of pop culture, media industry and Warner Bros. Discovery networks including Three/ThreeNow, franchise priorities and all our brilliant content is a plus!
